From zero-tolerance to ground-breaking public art project

ARTSCAPE 2016 in Gothenburg was Scandinavia’s largest urban art project to date. Permanent large-scale murals and other art was created in all of the city’s ten boroughs.

Gothenburg, with its history of zero tolerance to any kind of street art, surprisingly invited Artscape to completely take over city and tie a geographically scattered urban area together through one encompassing culture project. The result was a great success and Artscape completed 18 pieces of public art, hosted an artist talk and had locals join in at workshops all over the city.

Involving all ten boroughs, from the city centre to the suburbs, was a groundbreaking concept showcasing what Artscape is all about: bringing art to the people!

Thanks to our team, partners and the people of Gothenburg for making it happen!
