STREET ART MEETS THE SEA
Strömstad is marked by its proximity to the sea and coastal landscape. Hundreds of generations have lived off the Koster sea since the first people settled here during the stone age. The sea gives and it takes, creates sights and keeps secrets. Here you’ll find the underwater forest that hides underneath the waves, a unique fauna and a flourishing, historical coastal community. In ARTSCAPE LIGHTHOUSE the participating artists will explore the human interconnection with the ocean and be inspired by the area’s nature – both above and below the surface.
ARTSCAPE LIGHTHOUSE is Sweden’s largest street art project in 2022. At the turn of the month May-June, artists from all over the world gather to create eleven new, magnificent works of art in different parts of the city. The public is invited to watch, discover and participate. The festival ends in grand style with an exhibition and artist talks on June 8 on World Ocean Day.
